Our Approach

Why I selected Tiagos.com for PremiumBrands, and how I approach building on the web.

PremiumBrands.com is where I offer selected domain names with enough context for a founder to consider what they could build around them. As its founder, I want that first look to be useful. An appealing address becomes more useful when a buyer can connect it to a business they understand. Tiagos.com belongs in that conversation because it has a personal quality and leaves the eventual owner room to define the brand.

What I look for in a name

My starting point is the work of introducing a business. Someone has to say its name, put it on a website and explain it to another person. I pay attention to whether the address makes that introduction straightforward. The decision should make sense in a real conversation, rather than only looking good in a list of available names.

With Tiagos, the personal sound is what catches my attention. It feels like a name someone could become familiar with through repeated encounters. A founder has to decide what it means for their own audience. My role here is to give that person a clear starting point for their own assessment.

My experience with Newswire.com

In 2007, I acquired i-Newswire.com. I upgraded the business to Newswire.com in 2015. The shorter address gave the company a clear, category-defining name that matched its work. That experience remains part of how I assess the relationship between a business and the address people use to find it.

Issuer Direct acquired the business in 2022 for $44 million. That figure was for the business acquisition, not a domain sale. The linked transaction report provides the context for that figure. The company took work to build, and the name became part of its identity.

That history has made me interested in names early in a founder's planning. An address is easier to assess when the intended customer and offer are becoming clear. There is no single test that settles the decision. Saying the name aloud, looking at it beside an honest description of the business and considering how it might fit over time can make the choice more concrete.

Why AI interests me

I believe AI is making it more accessible to build a website, test a software idea and put an early version in front of people. Someone who understands a problem can now explore more of the first steps themselves. That does not remove the need for judgment. It changes how quickly a person may be able to reach something they can inspect and improve.

As more people gain access to those tools, I think choosing an appropriate identity deserves care. The name should belong to the work, rather than simply follow the tool used to create it. Tiagos does not need to become an AI business to fit that belief. Technology can help a founder make an idea tangible while the brand remains centered on the people it hopes to serve.

An early website also gives a founder useful questions to ask. Is the offer clear? Does the name feel appropriate beside it? What would someone need to know before taking the next step? I see value in getting those questions into a concrete form. An attractive presentation is a beginning, and the response to it can guide the work that follows.

Where OnlineBusiness fits

OnlineBusiness.com is my strategy and development studio. It supports the work behind PremiumBrands, where I present the domains and speak with people interested in acquiring them. PremiumBrands leads the offering and the acquisition conversation, with the studio supporting that work.

My brand, PR and search work also runs through GoPR.com. Signage.com is a client in the signage category. Those connections are part of the wider work I do around online brands.
